ARMED FORCES DAY – BUTE PARK -CARDIFF, SATURDAY 27TH JUNE 2009 A SPECIAL event to mark the first “Armed Forces Day” in South Wales will be held in the charming setting of Cooper’s Field, Bute Park, Cardiff on Saturday 27th June 09. Armed Forces Day honours the outstanding contribution made by current members of the Armed Forces and by Veterans of all ages. The day will be an opportunity for us all to join together to pay tribute to our Armed Forces past, present and future. The day will feature musical performances by the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, Welsh Guards Band plus others. There will be a Commemoration Service, a Veterans Parade through Cardiff and Stands, including Charitable Organisations Stands where help, advice and assistance will be available. Special features throughout the day will be displays by the amazing RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team and The Parachute Regiment Freefall Team 'The Red Devils', the official parachute display team of both the Parachute Regiment ('The PARAS') and the British Army. There will also be a Fly-past over Cooper’s Field by an RAF Spitfire. To top the day off we will also have performances by the Royal Signals White Helmets, the oldest and best known Motorcycle Display Team in the World. There will be Food and Refreshments available on the day, along with a Marquee’s for Veterans and the General Public. Dave Morris the main event organiser said “It’s a tremendous honour to be involved in Armed Forces Day our event in Cardiff on Sat 27th June 09, promises to be our biggest and best to date”. Everyone is welcome, come along and join in the fantastic spectacular displays and family fun.
