Crosskeys — 23 June 2018

Armed Forces ‘A Day to Remember’ – Crosskeys

9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Waunfawr Park Rd
Newport NP11 7PH

On Saturday 23rd June 2018 the Royal British Legion is hosting an event at Waunfawr Park, Crosskeys. The day will be entitled Armed Forces ‘A Day to Remember’ and will take the form of a large family Fete type event with stalls, sideshows re-enactment societies, modern military, vintage cars etc etc. There is a bandstand that will be the main hub for musical entertainment with performances from all the uniformed youth service bands of the area plus local choirs and vocalists. Entry is free to all and is entirely flat throughout with good paths and access points so is entirely disabled friendly. Disabled parking is available at either end of the park area.

The aim is multifold. It is for the local youth organisations to show their worth, local community/community awareness, to build military/community engagement as part of the Armed Forces Covenant. Charities are welcome and can raise awareness and donations on the stalls.

Parking has been offered by Colleg Gwent which is adjacent to the site and it is just a 5 minute walk from the Cardiff to Ebbw Vale railway station. Crosskeys is a centre for local bus routes as an alternative.

Traders, stands, etc will have access to the site from Friday afternoon with everything to be set up by 0830 on show day. The public will have access from 0900 to 1700hrs.
