With activities for the whole family visit the National Memorial Arboretum to show your support for HM Armed Forces on Armed Forces Day 2015.

On Saturday 27th June, the Arboretum will run a full programme of events to celebrate and commemorate Armed Forces Day.

Armed Forces Day is an annual opportunity for the Nation to show its support for the men and women of the Armed Forces community, which includes serving personnel, and their families, veterans and the Cadet Forces.

The day aims to raise awareness and support for the Armed Forces community and highlight the outstanding contribution they make to our country in their service throughout the world.

As well as our usual daily programme of events including the Daily Act of Remembrance, guided walks and buggy and land train tours the following activities will occur throughout the day:

  • Defence Medical Services Whittington site display
  • Royal Naval Association talks at the Royal Naval Association Memorial
  • Baby bouldering wall*
  • Bouldering wall*
  • 9-metre climbing wall*
  • Spider Mountain and slide*
  • Archery*
  • Segways*
  • Zip line*
  • Musical entertainment: Military Band, Scout Band, Lichfield Rock Choir
  • Food and Gift Fair
  • Veterans’ Village
  • Themed guided walks*

10.30am Military band form at the base of the Armed Forces Memorial prior to the service of tribute, arrival of Ride to the Wall motorcycles

Food and Drink

The Arbour Restaurant will be open from 9am to 5pm. Our menu includes breakfast items, until 11.30am, homemade soups, sandwiches, salads and a variety of hot dishes. If you have any special dietary requirements, please speak to a member of our team.

The Pavilion Tea Room, open from 10am until 4pm, offers lights bites, salads and cakes. A licensed bar will also be available in the Pavilion Tea Room.

Please note there is no ATM on site but payments for refreshments can be made via cash or card in both the Arbour Restaurant and Pavilion Tea Room.

Car Parking

Please note that there are limited spaces in the main car park, our overflow car park is situated approximately 100 metres past the main car park entrance on Croxall Road. Visitors are welcome to drop and pick up passengers by the Visitor Centre.

Blue Badge parking on the main car park is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and is situated near to the Visitor Centre.

Please note a £3 parking charge will apply to all cars on both the main and overflow car parks. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available to hire for a small donation.
