Armed Forces flag raised on Monday 19th June 2016 in advance of Civic Celebrations.

Veterans “Thank you” lunch on Monday 19th June 2016.

Bolton Sea Cadets raise their ensign flown from their mast head to mark the start of the day on Saturday 24th June.

Opening ceremony Saturday 24th June 2016 with Mayor of Bolton, Duke of Lancaster Regiment, 216 Battery Bolton Artillery, Bolton United Services Veterans Association (established 1906), Royal British Legion, other veteran organisations and Bolton’s Combined Forces Cadets. This ceremony to include a 2 minute silence in Act of Remembrance.

Cadet marching display and inter cadet displays to promote units to local young people and to promote adult volunteering opportunities. Certificates are awarded to all participants by the Mayor.

Armed Forces Marketplace – opportunities, information, advice and support for veterans and people interested in Armed Forces .

All day exhibitions – including local history societies.
A Sunset flag ceremony and closing speeches.

Communication – promotion of event via usual channels/social media etc.

Library and Museum service displays – TBC.
