Armed Forces Day
The Armed Forces Day event is for the whole community to learn about the role of the Armed Forces within the UK and abroad, the afternoon event will have exhibitors in marquees including: SSAFA, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, MRATH, Poppy Appeal, Salvation Army, Help for Heroes, Worcestershire & Herefordshire Western Front Association, as well as local cadet groups Army Cadet Force, Boys/Girls Brigade, Sea Cadets, Royal Air Cadets who will have a laptops set-up to illustrate flight simulators and the Maritime Cadets who set-up a camp to illustrate camping equipment and uniforms. Throughout the afternoon attendees will be able to have refreshments in a vintage tea tent with re-enactors. Attendees will be able to view and sit on military vehicles, attend a poppy broach craft making workshop and also for the more adventurous attendees a 4 person climbing wall. Attendees will be able listen to vintage singers, as well as a local children’s dance and singing group. To round off the afternoon there will be a band performing military marches and music in a Proms style flag waving finale. A first aid station will be provided throughout the afternoon.
