Armed Forces Day Celebration

Guests and members of the public will be invited to attend the Armed Forces Day in a local town called Blackwood. Led by the Royal British Legion Standard Bearers and Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough Council a small parade will travel through the streets of the town and come to a halt in front of the dais. The Lord Lieutenant of Gwent, Mayor of Caerphilly and a representative from the RBL will be invited to speak. Pupils from a local school will then offer a poem of thanks. The band will then play the anthems followed by the last post for the official raising on the Armed Forces Day flag. Following the ceremony a number of stalls will be available for the community to browse, which include:
– Royal British Legion
– SAFA
– 203 Welsh Field Hospital
– Royal Welsh 1st Battalion
– Army Cadets
– Sea Cadets
– Air Cadets
