Armed Forces Day Flag Raising Ceremony

10:30 am to 11:15 am
Guildhall Square,

Portsmouth will be marking Armed Forces Day with a ceremony on Monday 22 June in Guildhall Square from 10:20am – lasting for approximately 40 minutes.  The ceremony will be attended the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Councillor Frank Jonas, Councillors, serving Armed Forces representatives, cadets and veterans.  The Armed Forces Day Flag will be raised as part of the ceremony and will fly for the duration of the week. The ceremony is part of a national campaign held annually to raise awareness of the vital role that our Armed Forces, past and present, make and have made to our security and well-being.  The event will mark the start of a week of events marking Armed Forces Day 2015.
Timings for the morning are:
• 10.20am Guests gather in Guildhall Square
• 10.30am Ceremony begins with readings, prayers and flag raising
• 11.00 Ceremony ends
