Armed Forces Day Folkestone – 2018

The event aims to unite the Service Personnel of the past, present and future and Cadets to increase awareness of the Armed Forces contribution to the community and ensure that the Armed Forces understand how much they are valued, respected and supported both locally and nationally. Stands and displays (from 10am):
– Royal Gurkha Regiment weapons display and recruitment stand
– MOD vehicles
– Battle of Britain Experience
– Spitfire, Hurricane & ME109 Aircraft Static Displays
– BLESMA, RBL, RNLI, Army Cadets with laser rifle range and face painting.
– Folkestone & Hythe Sea Cadets
– Air Cadets
– Formal parade
– Military show
– Local schools
Entertainment Commencing at 11.00 – 4.30pm:
– 3PWRR ‘The Tigers’ Parachute Display
– Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas
– Andrews Sisters Tribute Act
– Combined Bands of the Folkestone & Hythe Sea Cadets
– Tug o’ War between Cadets
– Folkestone School for Girls band with singer
– Kukri Knife display
– Kent Military Community Choir
There will be an outside radio broadcast and also a master of ceremonies and speaker introducing the entertainment programme and also publicising the range of support available to the Armed Forces community whilst encouraging visitors to support the online armed forces day campaign.
