Armed Forces Day Parade and Open Day at the Bishop’s Stortford Royal British Legion Club

Bishop’s Stortford’s Armed Forces Day features Royal British Legion personnel, Veterans’ Associations, the Police Service, Fire Brigade and Cadet and Youth Organisations who will parade up Windhill from Basbow Lane to the Royal British Legion Club; accompanied by the local Air Cadet Band and Standard Bearers. The parade will start at 16.30 hrs on Saturday 27 June 2015 (At 16.00 hrs all contingents will muster in Basbow Lane by the Police Station and form up under the control of the Parade Marshall). Free flags will be available for those on the Parade route.
On completion of the Parade, there will be a short remembrance and welcome ceremony outside the Royal British Legion followed by a BBQ and entertainment at the Club. The Club will have an Open Day from 12.00 to 23.00 hrs.
The parade is a celebration of the history and proud record of the Armed Forces and their association and interaction with the local community. It will allow the Town of Bishop’s Stortford and its people to celebrate the Armed Forces and the role they play within our society.
