Berwick-upon-Tweed — 25 June 2016
Armed Forces Day parade & Event
- St Andrews Church,
On 25th June 2016, Armed Forces day, the North Northumberland Branch of the Royal British Legion will dedicate its new standard and lay up the standards of the Crookham and Berwick Branches.
The Standard Dedication will take place as part of the Wider Armed Forces Day programme:
- A Drumhead service will take place at 1045 hours in St Andrew’s Kirk, Wallace Green in Berwick. During this service, the old Crookham and Berwick Standards will be laid up and the new Standard will be dedicated.
- There will then be a parade through Berwick, past the Guildhall Hall. It is hoped that as many people as possible will march with the Legion. For those who feel uncomfortable with the formality of marching, there will be a contingent who will walk with the parade.
- There will be an exhibition and in the Guildhall. This will include a number of displays.
A number of military and civil organisations are taking part in this tremendous event. It is hoped that as many Legion members as possible will come and support.
