579 Field Squadron (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council are to host an Armed Forces Day “Flag Raising” event to mark the start of Armed Forces Week. The event is to be held at the Town Hall, Royal Tunbridge Wells on Saturday 23 June 2018. The communities of Royal Tunbridge Wells are invited to come along and celebrate the Armed Forces, both serving and Veterans and the organisations that support them.

Local Army Reserve units and Cadets within Kent will exhibit their capability and inform you of who they are and what they do, some of these stands will be interactive. Equally the organizations that support the Armed Forces Network through the year will showcase what they do i.e. The Royal Engineer Association (REA), NHS Armed Forces Network, The Royal British Legion and more.

Also on the day we aim to broadcast live music from an internet radio station, “SoulBeat Radio”, and the local farmers market stall holders will be in attendance.
