Armed Forces Day: Royal Victoria Hospital Reminiscence Event
A free, family event to help visitors explore the history of the Royal Victoria hospital; a vast establishment that cared for military personnel for 100 years from Victorian times to the 1960s.
View historic photographs of the hospital, its patients and staff and share memories or family stories of life at the hospital with our staff and volunteers. Guided walks in the Park and military cemetery will introduce visitors to the history of the Royal Victoria Hospital and some of the staff and patients who worked and were treated there. Visitors can also handle artefacts from our WW1 collection and climb the Tower to enjoy spectacular views over the Park and Southampton Water. Performances by Jane Glennie and Condensed Histories will also bring to life the WW2 era.
