Armed Forces Day Rushden

19.00 – Official opening at Rushden Station by our MP, Mr Peter Bone. An RBL Bugler will play, followed by a Cadet and MVS recruiting event.
09.00 – Morning, Honour Walk starting from Rushden Station. This will be opened by the Town Mayor.
11.00 – Station fully open to visitors with displays and attractions including train Rides. All branches of the services are represented as are the cadets and main service charities.
13.00 – Parade through the town, with the salute being taken by the Lord Lieutenant of Northamptonshire. The Royal Navy will lead the parade and will be followed by all local cadet units, Re-enactors, a host of historic military vehicles, the Chelsea Pensioners, the SCC Field Gun team, massed ATC and Town Band and many different local community groups. We will also be welcoming a Flypast by an RAF Spitfire.
10.30 – A service of remembrance hosted by the Heritage Chapel in park Road. The end of the event will be marked by a bugler playing the ‘Last Post’ – All are welcome.
