Our Armed Forces Celebrations will start at outside St Deny’s Church, Market Square, Sleaford with our Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday 19th June 2023 celebrating past, present and future generations of Armed Forces personnel. Communities from across the District will be invited to join us to take part in the Flag Raising Ceremony as are representatives from the ATC, ACF, SAFFA, RBL and senior officers from RAF Bases Cranwell and Digby. The Flag Raising is blessed by Rev’d Johnson, the Vicar of Sleaford and the Ceremony ends with a range of songs sung by a local Primary School choir.

The event then moves to NKDC’s Civic suite for a Veteran’s Badge award service and lunch which is a ticketed event for our Veteran’s Badge recipients, guests and dignitaries. Awarding the Veteran’s Badges will be the Leader of NKDC (a military Veteran) and we will be inviting Naval and RAF Veteran’s to share their experiences with the audience to enrich the experience for those Veteran Badge recipients.
