Armed Forces – Garden Party Event
This year we propose to put on an exciting event to celebrate Armed Forces Day 26th June 2021. We will have fun, food, and fellowship. This will be an exciting event for our Armed Forces, both serving and served, their families, friends, and the local community. This will be a ‘Garden Party’ promoting the generosity and sacrifice of our soldiers, the incredible support from the Armed Forces Covenant, especially during a time of difficulty, when our funding had been cut, which enabled us to maintain our promise and commitment to provide mentoring support to some of our most vulnerable. A time to celebrate our rural Armed Forces Hub situated in a beautiful rural setting in Stockport. We with activities and games in keeping with the momentous day, when more than 400,000 people from Britain and its colonies had died, and for some the celebrations were upsetting. Many were still waiting for friends and relatives to come home. We will remember this day with joy and remembrance of the sacrifice and the commitment along with the Armed Forces Covenant that together we can build improved services and a community spirit. This will be a great celebration, returning from ‘Lockdown’ and something the Project RECCE team and community have looked forward to since completing our courses and longed for since Covid19. We will showcase the journey because of your support. The memorabilia associated with the day, share art stall by some of our ex-forces, and offer a jammed packed entertainment package. This will include, a live band, a safe soft play structure for the children, private facility and baby changing area for mums, toilets, alcohol free smoothie bar (for the T-total like me), face painting, magician, raffle, strong man, mums and dads race, giant pass the parcel, English teas, coffee and scones and cake stall. We will have raffle prizes, a live auction and provide traditional party hats in keeping with the spirit of its time and a special ‘hat’ parade for the children. There will be free novelty gifts generously donated by locals. We will have a ‘give life and the encouragement tree’ with testimonials, in keeping with the evacuees’ postcard attached to the children’s bags coats etc. We will invite anyone military personnel, families, and celebrities share in a new summer, with the gratitude of a brighter future.
Project RECCE is an organization that has helped over 200 wounded, injured and sick (WIS) Military Armed Forces to rebuild their lives, through the support of the Armed Forces Covenant. You have helped us maintain that wrap around care. Supporting them back to work. The model includes a high level of professional support and a specially designed program of education and training, uniquely designed to help some of the hardest to reach community members, find purpose and meaning. The program applies a wellbeing Resilience to Civilian Life mental health support intervention, along with a counselling and mentoring program fundamental in maintaining wellbeing and having a wider impact on improving mental health outcomes. We will ensure a hive of activity to armed forces families free of charge, while charging a small fee to the general public, to be considered if it is fitting.
