Armed Forces Day Navigation Challenge with Bodmin Keep – Cornwall’s Army Museum
Bodmin Keep – Cornwall’s Army Museum is hosting a navigation challenge to celebrate Armed Forces Day.
The event will be a fun way to learn key navigation skills such as map-reading, working with a compass and soft skills such as communication and team-working. Participants can join in a timed challenge or go at their own pace and there’ll be a prize for the winning team.
This accessible, intergenerational event will be a fun way of exploring Bodmin and beyond and finding out about its military significance from the ancient past to the present day.
How?
Participants will embark on a self-guided tour of the town and the surrounding area, using clues to locate sites and discover more about heritage sites and Bodmin’s military history.
The event will have two levels of difficulty to make it accessible to all.
Trail 1 will be a shorter, town-based trail, suitable for younger recruits or those with limited mobility, pushchairs and wheelchairs.
Trail 2 will lead participants around Bodmin and the outskirts.
Cost
The event will be free to serving members of the Armed Forces and their families, £4 for all other competing families.
Entry to Bodmin Keep – Cornwall’s Army Museum will be free on 24 and 25 June. Opening hours 10am-5pm (last entry 4pm).
