Bury St Edmunds Is Celebrating The Service Of Women During Armed Forces Day
On Armed Forces Day Bury St Edmunds will celebrate 100 years of service by women in the armed forces.
The marketplace will be a ‘Pop up Museum’ displaying memorabilia loaned by some local ladies from a 3 services.
A game based on the role of the The Royal Observer Corps will start in the marketplace and end in the Guildhall
Bury St Edmunds Guildhall contains the last ROC Ops room. The room has recently been restored.
Royal Observer Corps original ‘Spotter kit’ will be displayed in the garden.
Air cadets will be available explain how ‘The Dowding System’ defended the skies of Britain during WW2
