Carterton Armed Forces Day
- 1 Arkell Gardens
Carterton OX18 3DD
This year, Carterton is celebrating Armed Forces Day with a traditional summer fete, complete with entertainment for the kids, stalls, a dog show, a cake competition, and other fun events. There is no admission charge, and half of the Rec will consist of free features designed to keep the children entertained.
The event is arranged by Martin Gillett from Oxfordshire Play Association, with funding from West Oxfordshire District Council, Carterton Town Council, the County Council, Cottsway Housing Association, the Annington Trust, and the Armed Forces Day committee.
Military and vintage vehicles, a funfair where ride prices are kept low, and a Burford Rotary Club barbecue also make up the day’s fabric. Beyond this, a local motorcycle club will conduct a ride of respect in the morning before parking up their vehicles on the Rec for people to view. We also have The RAF Falcons dropping in to open the event!
The official date for Armed Forces day is 24th June. But this is the date of LibFest and we didn’t want to take any of the focus away from their event. So our event is on Saturday 17th June with the Rec opening from 11am. We hope to see you then!
