City of York is a “forces friendly” city and we welcome serving military personnel, reservists, cadets, veterans and their families during Armed Forces Day week which runs from 19-24 June. There are special events starting with a flag raising event at Mansion House on Monday 19 June, and local discounts in appreciation of the contribution of the armed forces. Our Armed Forces, past and present, couldn’t do their job without the incredible support of their family and friends. Thank you for your service and for everything you do to keep us safe at home and abroad.

On Armed Forces Day there will be an information stand and community engagement on Lower Parliament Street outside Marks and Spencers with partners including City of York Council, York Armed Forces Career Office, and various forces related charity organisations.
