Dervock remembers HER “Armed Forces” family

There will be a dedication of a brass plaques for a Samuel Johnston MM and Bar [North Irish Horse] in St Colmans Parish Church, Dervock. Also in the Church Hall – we will have a small programme – comprining of an exhibition and talk, music themed around the villages connection with Lord Nelson and Captain Adair [RM]. After wards – the community will meet at the war memorial to listen to a programme represnting the communities involvement in the ‘Great War’ WWII and subsequent conflicts. Within the programme of music and poetry – a small re-enactment of a scene from the trenches – which will include the reading of genuine letters that came back from the trenches in WWI. There will be included also – street entertainment to represent and engage the entire community – and also stands from the diffrerent support groups e.g. SSAFA, RBL, and the various cadet forces will be on display
