Free Open Day at Waverley Abbey House

As part of the celebrations for the Armed Forces Day, take a rare opportunity to wander the rooms of Waverley Abbey House and discover the remarkable role that Waverley played during the First World War.
The house was volunteered as a base for one of the first military hospitals in England and over 5,000 soldiers were treated at Waverley Abbey Military Hospital, as it was then called.
Recent research has unearthed some fascinating pictures and letters revealing life at Waverley during this period, so why not join us to learn more about local history.
