Glasgow Armed Forces Day

Glasgow City Council will be holding its Armed Forces Day on 25th June at George Square.
Present on the Square will be military stands from all three Services, many of them interactive; an inflatable assault course and a climbing wall from 1100. The Pipes and Drums of the 6th and 7th Battalions of the Royal Regiment of Scotland will be present, along with several other musical acts. The Parade will arrive at George Square for 1315.
The entertainment on stage will start around 1330 and will finish around 1530. There will also be a veterans area with organisations such as Help For Heroes, SSAFA, Veterans Welfare Service and Glasgow’s Helping Heroes, to name but a few, who will be there to provide offers of assistance and support.
The Lord Provost will host a ticketed Civic Reception for Serving members and Veterans in the City Chambers from 2pm. Tickets can be ordered via the event organiser – Barry Henderson, 0141 276 7199, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Getting to the Event
George Square is approximately a 10 minute walk from Buchanan Bus station and Glasgow Central railway stations. Queen Street Station is only a minute away from the Square. There are several multi-storey car parks nearby and the Square itself is easily accessible for those with disabilities.
