Great Get Together and Armed Forces Day celebration
- Royal Artillery Barracks,
The Great Get Together and Armed Forces Day event combines a spectacular Armed Forces Day celebration with Royal Greenwich’s largest annual community event – The Great Get Together.
The event caters for all ages with an array of engaging attractions and displays. A large Veterans Parade, marching bands and other spectacular military displays take place in a 75 metre x 75 metre arena at the heart of the event site. The Imps Motorcycle Display Team and the Essex Dog Display Team will also be entertaining the crowds this year, with more arena acts to be confirmed.
Around the event site attractions include an army assault course for children, displays of vintage military and non-military vehicles, a BMX bike display, Eagle Heights birds of prey, zorbing balls, a large under-fives play zone, information and military charity stalls, food and craft stalls, fairground rides, walkround entertainers and a live music stage.
The event is free entry and many of the attractions are free of charge. In previous years more than 25,000 people have attended the event over the day.
The site is well served by local bus services and is a short walk from Woolwich Arsenal DLR and overground train station. There is ample visitor car parking next to the site with an online discount if paid for in advance.
