‘Picnic in the Park’ to celebrate Armed Forces Day (An indoor and outdoor picnic’ organised by Sutton Valence & District Branch RBL)

The Royal British Legion provides lifelong support for the Armed Forces community – serving men and women, veterans, and their families.
This year The Sutton Valence & District Branch RBL are holding an event at Sutton Valence Village Hall and Grounds in recognition of our Armed Forces – this is a chance to show your support and salute Our Forces.

Programme: (First Draft)

  • 1.00 pm: Arrival time
  • 1.45 pm: Official Welcome by Deputy Lieutenant Sir Huge Robertson representing the Lieutenancy of Kent.
  • 2.00 pm: Prayers of remembrance for the sacrifice the armed forces have made, and are still making.
  • 2.45 pm: Tea served in the village hall. Guests welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of Maidstone.  100 seated – Tickets a £5.00 donation.
    Family and friends ‘Picnic in the Park’
  • 3.00 pm: Stories and Verses read by visiting guests.
  • 4.00 pm: View the displays and see the memorabilia.
  • Music & entertainment and Children’s activities during the afternoon

Village Hall: This is the indoor picnic.
Guest will receive table service provided by young people from the community (Cadets and Scouts).  There will be a tea party atmosphere and entertainment.  All provided.

Recreational Area: This is the outdoor picnic.
Outdoor Family Picnic a ‘Bring your Own’ family fun flag waving event enjoying music, face painting, exhibits appropriate displays and side attractions. Children’ events.
