Armed Forces Day

Rotherham — 29 June 2019

Rotherham Armed Forces Day

When
10:30 am to 4:30 pm
Location

Every year Rotherham holds an Armed Forces Day in the town centre. This year it will be held on Saturday, 29th June.

The celebrations will feature a packed programme of military demonstrations and family entertainment. The event, led by Rotherham Council, will get underway with a military parade through the town centre followed by a service of worship in All Saint’s Square.

There will be a demonstration by our local cadet forces as well as displays of military vehicles and weapons. Entertainment will be provided by a variety of singers and performers, and there will be First and Second World War
re-enactors as well as walkabout acts.

For children, there will be face painters, balloon modellers and bouncy castles.

Our Armed Forces Day celebrations will conclude with a Sunset Ceremony, led by local military personnel.

There will also be a musical extravaganza with a spectacular concert held in Rotherham Minster – this year on the eve of Armed Forces Day (Friday, 28th June).

Rotherham is easily accessed by the M1 and M18 as well as by public transport.
