Active servicemen and women, veterans, and residents are being invited to pay their respects to the Armed Forces community as the annual parade returns to the city centre. The event will take place on Armed Forces Day on Saturday, June 25, with the parade taking place in high street followed by a short service. The procession of forces personnel will start underneath the railway bridge in the High Street at 10.30am. They will then march to Victoria Circus, where the Rev Frank Smith will conduct a public service. There will then be a Last Post, Royal Artillery Association gunfire, Reveille, and music from both adult choirs and members of the Southend Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs.
