Suffolk Armed Forces Day
- Pike\\\\\\\'s Meadow,
The Suffolk Armed Forces Day event is an opportunity for the civilian community to put on an event for all the men and women who have served or are serving in our Armed Forces – everyone’s welcome to come down and show their support.
Starting with a Community Parade from Red Gables, on Ipswich Road in Stowmarket, to Pike’s Meadow, all residents, visitors and families are welcome to take part in a wide array of activities throughout the afternoon. Provided by associations and groups who wish to show their support of our Armed Forces, these include…
-The Royal British Legion
-The Suffolk Military Vehicles Trust
-The Suffolk Regiment Reenactors
-Battles Stations laser activities and the Brickologists for younger visitors
-The Wattisham Military Wives Choir and the RAF Honington Military Wives Choir
-The SSAFA – the UK’s oldest national military charity
-The Stowupland High School Band
… and many more.
From 5.30pm things will settle down for our Sandbags and Lanterns event, with live music and the opportunity to swap stories with each other as the sun goes down.
