Armed Forces Day

‘Thanks and Fun’ – a tribute to all the Armed Forces Past and Present

10:30 am to 3:00 pm
Market Place
Mansfield NG18 1HX

There will be representation from all the armed forces and groups including:
Help for Heroes, HMS Sherwood, The Royal British Legion. 384 Cadets,Royal Air Force, Royal Navy Reserve, Mercian TA regiment, Mansfield Sea Cadets,Police Cadets
The day starts off with a parade led by Mansfield District Corps of Drums, with all groups and flag bearers marching down West Gate to the Market Place for an opening ceremony.
There will be lots to see and do with:
Talking and learning from all our Armed Forces Groups
Authentic Army vehicle display, from local vehicle re-storers
FREE waving flags & AFD sticker to wear with pride
A vintage, craft and food market
Free face painting and fun activities for children, from WW2
Enjoy a good old sing-a-long with songs from the past!
Dancing 1940’s style
Messages of thanks can be left on our giant heart for anyone you know who has served in the forces now and in the past. Some of these will be read out on Mansfield 103.2 who will be with us on the day.

It’s all FREE for everyone, including service men and women and their families to enjoy and to publicly acknowledge how important our Armed Forces are to us. The Royal British Legion bring along the Roll of Honour to remember our own who died in battle.

This event is organised by Mansfield BID on behalf of the town centre businesses and Mansfield DC. We are a not for profit organisation
