‘Thanks & Fun’ Mansfield’s Tribute to all the Armed Forces
This event is very much a ‘Thank you’ to our armed forces, past, present & future, and to recognise the part they play to keep us safe.
We start with a parade, led by Mansfield District Corps of Drums, which goes from The Buttercross area, next to the library on West Gate to the main event on the Market Place.

The parade is followed by a moving opening ceremony, to recognise the importance of the armed forces and listen to the Drum Corps playing the Last Post and performing a Drumhead service.

The day is spent with the general public engaging with the Armed Forces Day groups and associated charities who have given their time to be in our town on this important day.

There will be war time historical items on display, army vehicles, a spitfire plane & cadets performing drills. Children can take part in wartime children’s activities, free flags & free activity booklet.

There’s live music from a 1940’s trio and lots of different foods to try.
