The Great British Armed Forces Bake-off
The Great British Armed Forces Bake-off is a week long baking skills programme that will be delivered to the local Armed Forces community, with as specific focus on those individuals and families who have been isolated and lonely due to COVID-19.
The programme will be delivered online and led by a Veteran Cookery Teacher. The charities volunteers will provide ongoing support by delivering food and essential equipment and resources directly to the home of each Armed Forces community taking part in the programme. Novice bakers will be provided with the knowledge, skills, guidance and tips they will need to start baking. All the recipes will be explained with the help of detailed online tutorials delivered by the Cookery Teacher and the Armed Forces Community will be provided with a hardcopy cookery book.
Working closely with Hull City Council the programme will culminate in each creating a cake baking “showstopper” which will be displayed on Armed Forces Day 26th June and judged by The Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull and Admiral of the Humber.
