The Project RECCE Armed Forces Summer Ball
Project RECCE is a social enterprise created to deliver ex-military personnel into the construction industry. We have been created by veterans for veterans and have successfully delivered 6 courses across the NW and achieved a 95% success rate of graduates of our programme entering into new careers in the industry. We are a community centred peer-support group who have a significant reach across the veteran community. By the time of this event, we will have delivered a course in Perth, Scotland, one in Birmingham and one in London. Therefore we have become an identifiable brand for service leavers across the UK. In December 2019 we held our first annual Christmas Ball, the pictures of which can be seen on our website and it was an incredible success. Present were influential people from local authorities and business as well as a large group of ex-military personnel who truly were the stars of the show. We wanted to run a summer ball in 2020 to follow on from that success but would prefer it to be in honour of Armed Forces Day. The funding contribution would allow us to provide free spaces for our growing alumni of ex-military as well as their families. It would also be a chance for other veterans to join the community and become part of Project RECCE. The event would undoubtedly be well attended with guests from construction firms including Balfour Beatty, Lendlease and Morgan Sindall as well as other service charities including WWTW, RBL and H4H, all of which we have current partnerships with. This would be a great way to increase awareness of Armed Forces Day and ensure the veteran community stay at the front of the wider communties’ mind.
