West Dunbartonshire Armed Forces Day Parade

West Dunbartonshire will show its support for the area’s military community with a parade through Clydebank to mark Armed Forces Day 2016.
The parade will leave Three Queens Square at 1.30pm and proceed via Abbotsford Road, Chalmers Street, Kilbowie Road and Dumbarton Road to Clydebank Town Hall, where Provost Douglas McAllister and Rear Admiral Michael Gregory OBE, Lord Lieutenant for Dunbartonshire, will perform the salute.
Local cadets, Scouts and veterans’ organisations will be among those taking part, alongside serving members of the local Dumbarton Company of 51 Highland, 7th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland led by their veteran Shetland pony mascot Cruachan.
This will be followed by a short commemorative service at Morison Memorial Church on Dumbarton Road, Clydebank, led by the Reverend Gregor McIntyre of Faifley Parish Church. Members of the public are welcome to attend the service at 2pm.
