Birmingham Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day takes place in Centenary Squares on Saturday 27th June. The event starts at 11:00am where local Veterans’ Associations such as the Royal British Legion, Help for Heroes and War Widows Association will have stalls at the event with displays and information about their organisations, the Army cadets will be providing a Paintball range.
At 2pm a full stage programme of entertainment will include Fiona Harrison, “the Forces Sweetheart” performing songs from the 40s, and the Military Choir will treat the crowds to sea shanties and national songs.
At 12.45pm a Drum Head Service will take place (12.45am – 1.15pm) where the Army, Navy and RAF regiments will march alongside the veterans associations led by the Royal Signals and Mercian Band for a service and prayers.
The afternoon will be brought to a close at 4.45pm by the Royal Signals and Mercian Band with Beat the Retreat, a real spectacle not to be missed.
