Bradford district celebrates Armed Forces Day

On Armed Forces’ Day, Saturday 29 June, there will be a celebratory event in Shipley Market, Market Square, Shipley.

The event will open at 11am and run until 4pm.

Bradford residents will have the opportunity to stand together and celebrate the men and women, both past and present, who serve our country. They will also have the opportunity to make their own personal pledge of support to the Armed Forces community.

Stalls will be available offering family friendly activities along with exhibitors from across the district providing information on the heritage of the district and showcasing work to preserve the memory of those who have served, including our local Covenant Partnership.

Additionally, market stall holders selling a range of produce and products will also be available at the venue for those attending the event.

There will also be a climbing wall and face painting for youngsters to enjoy free of charge.

And with an independent 1940’s themed event taking place over the same weekend, and just down the road in Robert’s Park, Saltaire, there will be more activities for all to enjoy throughout the day.
