Newark Armed Forces Day
This years’ event will be held in Newark Market Place. The formal aspect will involve a parade of serving and ex-military personnel, the following groups have confirmed their participation:

Royal Logistics Corps
Forces Cadets – Sea, Army and Air
Royal British Legion
Royal British Legion Riders’ Branch
Robin Hood Rifles Corps of Drums
Royal Naval Association
Newark Patriotic Fund
Parachute Regimental Association
Royal Artillery Association
Royal Air Force Association
The parade around the Market Place will take place at 11.50am and will finish with an inspection by Civic & Military Dignitaries, followed by Last Post, two minutes silence and Reveille.
There will also be a market in operation from 9.30am with a Military theme, various craft & artisan stalls together with a variety of food & drink concessions. In addition many of the Military Associations will have stalls to publicise their work. The market will close at 4.00pm.
In addition there is entertainment provided throughout the day with music provided by the local Rock Choir and other Groups.
There will also be military equipment on display provided by Royal Logistic Corps together with Recruiting Stands. The local Police & Fire Forces will be in attendance with a variety of equipment for people to experience.
Newark’s Armed Forces Day has become the largest single event of this type in Nottinghamshire and attracts thousands of visitors throughout the day.
