The aim is to provide veterans and members of the community a fun day with bouncy castles, face painting, BBQ and other child friendly games and activities.
We will also be using the occasion to commemorate two Polish War Heroes who lived in Liss after the war until their deaths in the 70’s and 80’s.
Stefan Nowak was part of the Ploish Resistance who help to smuggle parts of a V1 Rocket back to the UK before returning to carry on the fight in Poland.
Henryk Zygalski (1908 – 1978) was a mathmetician and Cryptologist who worked on breaking the Enigma Code before WW2. The work they did was shared with the Allies where more work was carried out in Bletchley Park.
