Armed Forces Day in Brackley 2026 will be delivered through a strong partnership between the Royal British Legion Brackley Branch and Brackley Town Council, working closely with volunteers from across the local community. For the first time, the event will be coordinated by a dedicated working group chaired by the Chairman of the Royal British Legion Brackley Branch, ensuring clear leadership while encouraging community involvement at every stage of planning and delivery.
The event will be held in a central, accessible location within the town to maximise participation from residents of all ages and backgrounds. The site has been chosen to be easily accessible on foot, with disabled parking and adaptive access provided. Public transport links are readily available, with a bus stop on the High Street connecting Brackley with surrounding villages, helping to remove barriers to attendance for those living further afield.
Entry will be free for veterans, serving personnel, reservists, local cadets and their families, ensuring those with a direct connection to the Armed Forces are able to attend without financial barriers. The event is open to everyone in the community and is designed to be welcoming, inclusive and family-friendly, offering a wide range of activities and entertainment for both adults and children. This will include live music, a magician and childrenβs entertainment, alongside interactive displays and engagement activities.
Local regular and reserve military units, uniformed cadet organisations, Armed Forces charities and community groups have been invited to take part, creating opportunities for learning, conversation and shared experiences. A request for an RAF flypast has been submitted, and the Armed Forces Para Snowsport Team has confirmed its attendance, providing an inclusive laser shooting activity accessible to a wide range of participants.
Food and drink stalls will be provided by local businesses, alongside stalls from local charities and community organisations, supporting the local economy while offering opportunities for community groups to promote their work and recruit volunteers.
Brackley Town Council is playing an active role in supporting the event by facilitating the use of the community park and council resources, helping to keep costs to a minimum and ensure the event remains accessible to all. The overall aim of Armed Forces Day in Brackley 2026 is to bring the community together to recognise the service and contribution of the Armed Forces, strengthen community cohesion, and promote understanding, inclusion and mutual respect.
Local Member of Parliament Sarah Bool has confirmed her attendance, and invitations have been extended to the Lord Lieutenant of Northamptonshire and the Town Mayor, reinforcing the eventβs importance to the whole community.
