The Jersey Armed Forces Day & Military Village 2026 is a free, inclusive public event organised by the Jersey Joint Services Veterans Association to recognise, celebrate and thank the Armed Forces Community, including serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets and their families.
The event will take place in central St Helier and begins with a military parade forming up in Royal Square, followed by a march‑past through the town centre, involving serving personnel, veterans, cadets, military vehicles and riders. The Lieutenant Governor will take the salute before the parade arrives at the Weighbridge, where the Military Village will be formally opened by the Bailiff, followed by a live performance of the National Anthem.
Throughout the day the programme includes military music, a Beating Retreat by the Band of the Island of Jersey, performances by local artists, and cadet drill and command task competitions involving cadets from all service branches. A key highlight of the afternoon will be a mine clearing demonstration by Jersey Field Squadron RE (V), showcasing modern military skills and operational capability.
The Military Village will host Armed Forces and veterans’ charities, community organisations, and food and beverage vendors, alongside a family‑friendly children’s area featuring activities such as face painting and bouncy castles. The formal programme concludes with a flag‑lowering ceremony accompanied by a piper, providing a respectful and fitting tribute to those who serve and have served. The day ends with an informal veterans’ reception, reinforcing the event’s purpose as a meaningful community thank‑you to the Armed Forces.
