This Armed Forces Day event will bring together Brechin Army Cadets, the British Legion, and local community figures in a celebration of service, connection, and opportunity. Held alongside a cricket match between Crescent and Aberdeenshire, the occasion will feature a ceremonial start with the oldest and youngest service personnel jointly ringing the bell.

The day will include a pipe band performance, static and interactive displays both before the game and during the half-time interval, and food available to attendees at their own cost. Beyond the activities, the event is designed to create a welcoming space for people of all ages to come together, share experiences, and build connections.

Taking place in an area of high deprivation with limited access to events, this initiative aims to celebrate the region’s service community while extending an open invitation to personnel, veterans, and cadets from across the wider county.

We will offer a lunch in the park for military and ex service men and women all supported through the day by our local and regional cadets.
