The Armed Forces Day 2026 Service at Fylde Memorial Arboretum will be a formal and respectful event dedicated to reflection, remembrance, and recognition of our Armed Forces community.
On the day, we will hold a structured Service of Reflection and Remembrance set within the peaceful surroundings of the Arboretum. The service will honour:
• Serving members of the Armed Forces
• Veterans
• Reservists
• Cadets
• Fallen service personnel
• Armed Forces families
The event will include:
• A formal welcome and opening address
• Prayers and readings
• Acts of remembrance
• A wreath-laying ceremony
• The sounding of the Last Post
• A two-minute silence
• The National Anthem
Local dignitaries, Armed Forces representatives, cadet units, veterans’ organisations, The Lord Lieutenants Office, serving armed forces and members of the community will be invited to attend and participate.
The purpose of the event is to:
• Show appreciation for the dedication and sacrifice of our Armed Forces
• Provide a space for quiet reflection and remembrance
• Strengthen community support for the Armed Forces Covenant
• Promote unity, respect and intergenerational understanding
