GTAS will host a family‑friendly Armed Forces Day celebration at Denehurst Park, designed to bring the community together to honour serving personnel, veterans, and their families. The event will be open to all ages and completely free to attend, creating an inclusive space where local residents can connect, celebrate, and learn more about the Armed Forces community.
The day will feature a large community picnic in the park, live music from local bands, and a display of military vehicles and equipment for families to explore. There will be opportunities for children and young people to meet veterans, ask questions, and learn about service life in an engaging, positive way. Alongside this, we will host stalls, activities, and wellbeing information stands to highlight the support available to veterans and their families.
The aim is to create a relaxed, welcoming celebration that recognises the contribution of our Armed Forces while strengthening community pride and connection.
