The Armed Forces Family Network is truly honoured to invite you to a special gathering at the Sir Captain Tom Moore Garden on the St Mary’s Hospital Community Campus as we come together to celebrate Armed Forces Day. This day holds deep significance for our Armed Forces Family Network, and we warmly welcome you to join us in recognising the families, reservists, cadets, serving personnel and veterans who are part of our workforce and our patient community. Their dedication, resilience and service enrich our organisation in countless ways.
We hope the sunshine continues, as it would be wonderful for you to experience the beautiful new artwork on the Bin Shed, a heartfelt piece created by a local artist in collaboration with Shaping Portsmouth. It stands as a tribute to the spirit of service, community and remembrance.
Our time together will begin with a quiet moment of reflection, offering space to pause and honour those who serve and those who support them. This will be followed by uplifting performances from marching cadets, a talented cadet bugler, and the Veterans Outreach Service Support Choir, whose voices bring both pride and comfort. Cakes and refreshments will also be available for everyone to enjoy.
We warmly encourage you to take a moment out of your day to join us, to connect, to reflect, and to celebrate the remarkable contributions of our Armed Forces community. Your presence would mean a great deal, and we look forward to welcoming you. 😊
If you notice someone that someone has missed off our distribution list and you feel they are an ally or connected to the Armed Forces community, please contact Andrew Spencer so we can ensure they are included in future events (Programme Lead for the Armed Forces, Co-chair of the Armed Forces Family Network).
