Manchester will proudly come together to celebrate the extraordinary service of our Armed Forces with a vibrant day of free activities in St Peter’s Square.
Join us for an action-packed afternoon of family-friendly fun as we honour serving personnel, veterans and their families for their dedication, courage and sacrifice.
The event will be formally marked by the presence of the Lord Mayor of Manchester and the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, paying tribute on behalf of the city. Throughout the day, the square will come alive with stirring performances from local military bands, alongside a dynamic live stage programme featuring both military and civilian entertainment.
Visitors of all ages are invited to get involved – from face painting and hands-on activities for younger visitors, to information and support stalls from Armed Forces charities and organisations including the Royal British Legion.
One of the highlights of the day will be the chance to explore current and historic military displays, giving the public a rare, up-close opportunity to see military kit and equipment and to meet the organisations proudly showcasing the Armed Forces’ remarkable heritage.
Whether you’re coming to reflect, celebrate or simply enjoy a great day out in the city centre, this special event promises something for everyone — a powerful and uplifting tribute to those who serve and have served.
