Redberth Croft CIC will host a community-led event to mark the launch of Armed Forces Week 2026, bringing together veterans, service personnel, their families, and the wider community to recognise and celebrate their contribution. The event will be free and open to all, with a particular focus on supporting members of the Armed Forces community to connect with local opportunities, improve wellbeing, and feel valued within their community.
The day will include a formal volunteer and service recognition ceremony, acknowledging individuals who have made significant contributions through volunteering, including several who have exceeded key hour milestones. Alongside this, there will be a programme of interactive rural skills demonstrations, including hedge laying, conservation, and sustainable growing, showcasing pathways into land-based roles which are well-suited to veterans transitioning into civilian life.
The event will also offer wellbeing-focused activities such as nature-based engagement and animal-assisted interactions, providing a relaxed and inclusive environment for attendees. Community stalls, partner organisations, and informal networking opportunities will be available throughout the day, enabling attendees to access support, build connections, and explore opportunities.
Overall, the event is designed to recognise service, strengthen community ties, and highlight the valuable contribution of both Armed Forces personnel and volunteers in a welcoming rural setting.
