Armed Forces Day is returning for its wonderful annual community celebration in Denton.

Armed Forces Day is marching back to Denton on Saturday 27 June 2026 for Tameside’s annual salute to the borough’s service personnel past, present and future.

Proceedings start at noon when the Civic Mayor hosts a private veterans’ lunch at Denton Civic Square, where she and other dignitaries will offer personal thanks to those who have served in the forces.

From 1pm until 4pm, the usual festival of fun and entertainment will take place around the bandstand in Victoria Park, and everyone is welcome to come join in.

As well as live music, there will be dance displays by local groups, and a range of activities for children and adults alike, including climbing walls, inflatable axe throwing, face painting, arts, crafts and much more. There will be a fun and creative activity for everyone!

Also in attendance will be a range of support services and community organisations, sharing information about how they can help and support our veteran and service personnel community.

Refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon from Victoria Park Community Centre.
