Wakefield Armed Forces Day Event
- Park Road,
We plan to deliver an exciting and informative day to say ‘thank you’, and to celebrate and highlight the outstanding contribution made by the Armed Forces, past and present, the Cadet Forces, and also engage with the local community and Armed Forces Families and Veterans. We want to support Veterans Associations and Charities by increasing awareness of our local agencies that deliver wide-ranging and essential welfare support to the wider Armed Forces and Veteran’s community of Wakefield District. We will also be working closely with local Joint Service Military representatives, local Cadet units and The Royal British Legion.
Wakefield Armed Forces Day is now firmly established as the singular annual celebration of Armed Forces Day for Wakefield District, and it has become a very popular event.
There will be a Main Events Arena with a variety of exciting displays. In the park area around and adjacent to the Arena, there will be a wide variety of Military & Cadet Stalls, Veterans Associations, Military Charities and stands from Blue Light Services and local community agencies that provide essential support services to the local Armed Forces and Veterans community. There will also be a Farmers Market and a variety of fun activities for children along with catering and refreshment outlets; everything needed for a great day out!
There will also be a Free-Fall Parachute Display, Police Dog Displays, a Farmers Market, Model Aircraft, Falconry Display, Re-enactments and a WW2 vehicle display.
