The event starts with a muster (breakfast/tea/coffee) at the Workington Royal British Legion (WRBL) club for members of the various associations that have travelled to take part in the event, proceeded by a parade from the town center to a drumhead service at the war memorial where the local community, family and friends are encouraged to show their support. Then parade back to the WRBL club, where the Master of Ceremony will conduct the rest of the day’s free events. A free lunch is provided (served by cadets to veterans), followed by opening speeches, Cadet displays, pipe band musical display, associations & serving personal presentations. There are local entertainment acts spread throughout the day. Afternoon tea is served in the late afternoon, there are also raffles, photo opportunities and a local war museum display.
